THIMBLE.IO

Thimble.io's mission is to make its unique STEM Curriculum accessible to 100 million students by 2030. Their solutions are tailored to accommodate every range of student skill level, catering to both STEM enthusiasts and those entirely new to technology.

The Thimble.io licensed learning platform includes our Library of STEM, electronics, robotics, and engineering projects designed for flexible implementation.

My responsibilities included: leading product design as well as develop, & create go to market strategy for the release.

Branding

Before joining the team full time, Thimble.io hired a marketing firm and overhauled their brand and B2B website.

When the LMS project kicked off, we were provided the brand kit but due to the color contrast and accessibility, the design team had to create an expanded color palette. You can see the original brand kit and the expanded color palette here. This gave the design team much more room for creativity and allowed us to create a robust, engaging platform.

Sketching & Mockups

Due to a demanding timeline, our first release was closer to a sketching process and we made iterations in real time quickly based off of initial feedback.

Our first launch did not have authentication or the Educator Platform so we focused heavily on the landing page for students, educators, and sales prospects.

User Testing

  • Worked with internal Product Management Intern to create the testing user flows, feedback loop, requirements gathering, and stakeholder presentation process.

  • Conducted 15+ User Tests including two in person tests with the target influencer persona.

  • Collected feedback, created tickets, and led the iteration product management in Notion through agile sprint planning with designers, engineers, and CTO.

  • Improved 3+ workflows based off first round of testing.

RESULTS

Four separate platforms (Authentication, Curriculum, Learning, and Educator) launched August 2023 that allowed us to sell our proprietary LMS to larger school districts because we offered the following:

  • Authentication for students and educators

  • Interactive assessments and knowledge checks to track and monitor student’s performance and engagement

  • Reporting at the District, School, Classroom, and Student level
